Welcome to my World

Blah, Blah, Blah.

oscars

I really thought Where The Wild Things Are would have picked up a few nominations. Something’s wrong when The Blind Side gets a Best Picture nomination, but (500) Days of Summer, and Where The Wild Things Are get snubbed. Shucks.

tee fury

teefury.com check it out. A new t-shirt each day. I haven’t been able to bring myself to buy one yet, but I see this as a potential addiction in the future…

i can’t wait

Not only Vampire Weekend, but Hot Chip, and The Magnetic Fields as well…sweet. It’s going to be a great year.

karate kid

You know, I’ll probably eat my words, but the Karate Kid remake really doesn’t look too horrible check it out:

I don’t know, maybe they’re just distracting me with the rhythm they created with the whole thing. I don’t know…at least they didn’t stick with their title idea (The Kung-Fu Kid…yeah.)

2010

If all goes well, 2010 is going to be a crazy year for me. Here’s the plan.

  • Finish my novel…started in November, first draft should be done before the end of the month.
  • Non-Fiction Book (Start-Finish)
  • Three Short Films (Potentially)
  • My $7,500 feature film (Potentially)
  • Two unauthorized commercials (I’m already looking forward to the takedown notice)
  • A couple other TOP SECRET projects

Whew.

top ten

I’m sure you care about my ten favorite films of the year (sarcasm alert) but here they are anyway.

(In no particular order)

  1. Up
  2. Fantastic Mr. Fox
  3. Avatar
  4. The Hurt Locker
  5. Star Trek
  6. Inglourious Basterds
  7. Up In The Air
  8. District 9
  9. 500 Days of Summer
  10. Where the Wild Things Are

Though you need to know that I live in a town with a fairly lame theater and haven’t seen most of the good movies. Including, but not limited to: Precious, The Road, The White Ribbon, Nine, An Education, A Single Man, The Messenger, and Crazy Heart. I really need to move…

mine

It’s coming in the mail…Two more days…not the greatest camera in the world, but definitely one of the best in my price range. I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

The Budget

Almost 65% of the budget raised for my first feature. Filming is set for July of this year. I think it goes without saying, but I can’t wait!

budget

I’m almost there. Room 147 is happening!

still truckin’

twenty thousand words in. sixty thousand to go.
